Messy Play Group

This group is for children with tactile aversions.

They may dislike some textures – things which are sticky, or slimy, or wet or hot.. This can cause them to withdraw from sensory play, or be hesitant exploring new things. It can also lead to issues with trying new foods, and ultimately a limited diet.

This play-based group allows them to explore different textures in a fun and safe space. By seeing other children interacting with different objects and textures, they are  encouraged to try and join in.

As with all our groups, parents and caregivers are provided with strategies and ideas to practise at home to continue the learning and ensure lasting change.
